Natasha Adams is an American mechanic, racer, and YouTuber who has made a name for herself in the automotive industry thanks to her unique blend of mechanical know-how and entertaining social media content.
Who is Natasha Adams?
Natasha’s love for cars goes back a long way. In fact, by her recollection, Natasha started working on cars almost immediately after first learning how to drive. For over six years Natasha worked on cars as a hobby. But now, she’s living out her dream with a full-time job as a mechanic at a high-end restoration shop.
When hard at work at her shop, Natasha primarily works on restoring first-generation Ford Broncos, Toyota FJ cruisers, and Chevy 3100 pickups. Though Natasha wouldn’t say that she specializes in these vehicles, she does note that they are the main focus of most of her restoration efforts. Despite the number of awesome cars and trucks she gets to work on every day, Natasha’s dream car is a 1969 Chevelle.
But despite her talents, simply working on cars isn’t quite enough for Natasha. That’s why she spends much of her time off focusing on her other passion: off-road racing. And now, Natasha has found thousands of fans who follow her restoration projects and her racing adventures on her YouTube channel and Instagram page.
Natasha has forged a successful partnership with Capri Tools. She has been fortunate to find the best tools for all of her mechanical projects going back to the very beginning. The first tool she ever purchased was a breaker bar and sockets which she used to take the wheels off of a car in the early days of her hobby. Since then, she’s been able to get all the tools she needs for her diverse restoration projects, no matter how big or small the job is.
Starting Her Youtube Channel
Natasha’s YouTube channel started small at first. Her initial videos were just for fun and to document the adventures that she would go on in her restored vehicles. As she put out more and more videos, she found that she loves producing and editing her adventures for all of her followers to see.
Lately, Natasha hasn’t been able to put out many videos, given how busy she is in her shop and her desire to live more in the moment of her adventures. But she plans to get back into putting out more YouTube content in the future.
Being a women who fixes cars
According to Natasha, being a woman mechanic feels “amazing.” When Natasha first started her career, she was the first female mechanic at the shop where she currently works. Though it took a bit of time to adjust, Natasha now blends right in. Natasha also notes that she’s lucky enough to work somewhere where all the guys treat her the same as everyone else.
Finding Her Calling
One thing that sets Natasha apart from other automotive YouTubers is the artistic flair she brings to all of her projects. Not only does Natasha work hard restoring old vehicles, but she also has a knack for making art pieces from old car parts. But even when she’s just replacing a tire or repairing a brake line, Natasha always brings the same artistic focus to all of her projects. In fact, if Natasha didn’t have her current job as a mechanic/racer/YouTuber, she sees herself probably working with some type of art.
What She loves most about fixing cars
When it comes to fixing up cars for a living, Natasha particularly loves the thrill of successfully putting a car together and seeing it run better than it did before she bought it. For Natasha, customizing a car for herself, or building a car from scratch, is an amazing feeling. Natasha also has the privilege of driving (and sometimes racing!) the cars that she’s just fixed. For example, Natasha has brought home classic Broncos or classic trucks she worked on in her shop and taken them on adventures.

Natasha's Off-Roading Day
In addition to her mechanical skills, Natasha has found a secondary calling as an off-roading adventurer. Natasha usually takes her Jeep on her off-roading trips, though she also uses her LS400 for trips to the desert. Living in California, Natasha has ample locations for great off-roading treks, including Big Bear, CA for its snow and technical trails.
Rather than keep her off-roading adventures to herself, Natasha created the women’s off-roading group Hardline Ladies, where she helps other women like herself find their off-roading passion in a safe environment. When Natasha takes the Hardline Ladies group out, she usually begins their treks at the bottom of a mountain and leads the group up together.
Natasha normally starts the groups out on some easier trails and then moves to more technical trails once the group gets more comfortable. Safety is critically important in any off-road trip, and Natasha always makes sure everyone has recovery gear and can air down their tires.
Helping other women break into the work of cars and off-roading trips is one of the biggest rewards that Natasha gets to experience in these groups. Natasha says, “it is so great to see how some team members light up” after accomplishing a trail that they may have initially doubted they could complete. Natasha firmly believes “that once someone sees the capabilities of their vehicle, it boosts their self-esteem, and they are more willing to hit more technical trails.”
Advice for other Women Mechanics
All in all, Natasha counts herself as quite lucky that she can make a living doing something she loves while also going on amazing adventures. Now, Natasha wants to help other women interested in getting into the automotive industry, who may be intimidated by the gender disparity. Natasha advises other women mechanics to watch their backs and not let anyone bring them down just because they’re female.
Natasha wants to remind all women in the automotive field to never let their opinion get disregarded or ignored. But most importantly, Natasha wants women mechanics to have as much fun as they can and learn the details of everything presented to them.
