  • Meta description: Need power and flexibility to get the job done? Our flex head angle impact wrench gives you up to 280 ft lbs of working torque and adapts to multiple angles.

Whether you’re working on a new build or tearing down an old one, you’re bound to come across your fair share of tight spaces. You still need the working torque required to free a rusted nut, but a straight impact wrench just won’t fit. So what do you do? You reach for your flex-head angle impact wrench.

With high-octane torque and range of motion of up to 60 degrees each way, the flex-head angle impact wrench is the perfect combination of power, form, and function. Ergonomically designed to fit easily into those hard-to-reach places, this pneumatic impact wrench is made for busting nuts, not your knuckles. Its flexible head and 360-degree rotation makes it nimble enough for most projects you’ll find — and its dual air intake motor coupled with a twin hammer mechanism means it never skimps on power.

Force, form, and function: that’s what you need in every tool, and that’s exactly what our flex-head angle impact wrench delivers.

Force
At the end of the day, what matters most is that your tool has the strength to get the job done. Without enough torque, those bolts aren’t going anywhere — and neither is your build. That’s why we designed the flex-head angle impact wrench with enough torque to get your project rolling and keep things moving forward without ever losing momentum.

Torque Metrics
Torque is the amount of rotational force your tool exerts, so it’s the measurement you should look for when deciding which tools have the strength for your application. It’s an essential metric for tools like impact wrenches or drivers, but unfortunately there is no industry standard for how torque should be measured. That means you’ll need to look closely at what each brand claims they offer when they state their tools’ torque ratings.

We’re all about transparency at Capri Tools, so here’s how we define our torque measurements:

  • Working torque: The average torque applied during what we estimate to be a standard duration, working torque is measured with a torque meter over a 5-second time interval in the forward direction. Our 3/8″ flex-head impact wrench delivers 185 ft-lbs of working torque, and our 1/2″ model provides 333 ft-lbs over a 5-second interval.
  • Maximum torque: The torque required for loosening most bolts, maximum torque is measured with a torque meter over a 15-second time interval, and is applied in the reverse direction. The max torque on our 3/8″ flex-head impact wrench is 225 ft-lbs, and our 1/2″ model steps it up to 400 ft-lbs of rotational force.
  • Nut-busting torque: Considered for those times when you have to break the tightest fasteners free, nut-busting torque is reached using a torque wrench and a torque multiplier and is loosened with the impact wrench within a 30-second time interval. The 3/8″ flex-head impact wrench offers up to 369 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque, while the 1/2″ model reaches as high as 970 ft-lbs of torque.

Form
All that torque is for nothing if it can’t be applied in the right space. From the swiveling head and 360-degree rotating handle to the ultra-compact form factor and simple directional dial, our flex-head angle impact wrenches are designed for some of the tightest fits around — all while keeping your comfort in mind.

Swiveling Head
Many builds require a tool that can conform to sharp angles and tight spaces, and our flex-head angle impact wrenches do just that. The wrench head swivels up to 60 degrees forward and backwards for a 120-degree total range of motion. Simply loosen the nut on the neck of the impact wrench, and the head will swivel freely into place. Tighten it up once it’s in the position you want, and the tilted head will give you the access you need to hard-to-reach fasteners.

Form Factor
A swiveling head alone isn’t enough to get your impact wrench where you need it most. For a tool to fit into tight spaces, it needs a slender form factor. At just 3.34″ deep and 2.25″ wide, the ultra-compact form factor of our flex-head angle impact wrench enables you to get into some of the closest spaces you’ll find. The 10.9″ handle also gives extra access to distant fasteners to allow for added maneuverability, and the short shank helps you connect with stubborn nuts.

As a bonus, the slender form factor coupled with the swiveling head make for a compact wrench that fits easily into any toolbox or chest.

Rotating Handle
What good is an impact wrench if you can’t turn it on? A swiveling head and compact shape are no use without a handle that lives up to the flexibility of the rest of the wrench. Our rotating handle has a full 360-degree range of motion, so that you can pull the trigger in any position.

Beyond flexibility, a well-designed tool should always consider the comfort of its user. The handle on the flex-head angle impact wrench is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand, and weighing in at just under 3 lbs, this lightweight wrench won’t wear down your wrists.

The 120-degree swiveling head and 360-degree rotating handle make for custom access to any space.

Forward/Reverse Dial
There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Simplicity is the key to a quality tool design, and our flex-head angle impact wrench changes direction with merely the flip of a switch. Apply forward torque to tighten down loose fasteners, and flip the dial into reverse to loosen stubborn connections. Some quarters are too close for you to be able to change the position of your impact wrench, and with our simple directional dial, you won’t have to.

Ergonomic Design

Whether it’s the rotating handle or swiveling head, the form of our impact wrench is designed with one thing in mind: ergonomics. Removing nuts and bolts in tight spaces is hard enough work; you don’t need extra trouble from uncomfortable tools. From the shaft to the head, we’ve thought of everything to make your tool fit your hand as comfortably as it does your machine. Here’s how:

  • The insulated grip protects your hand from extreme temperatures.
  • The ergonomic handle fits your hand snugly.
  • The low vibrational level won’t wear out your hand.
  • The impact wrench operates at 91.2 dBA, well under the threshold for hearing damage.
  • The compact, flexible design lets you take your tool on the go.

Every detail counts when you’re making a tool that mechanics will use every day, and that’s why we’ve thought of them all. A simple, comfortable design that fits both the user and the project is what quality tools are all about, and it’s how we’ve built our flex-head angle impact wrench.

Function
Whether you’re a professional mechanic or a machine enthusiast, you take your projects seriously, and so do we. That’s why we’re dedicated to building each of our tools with the highest quality craftsmanship, and every component is engineered to perform.

Efficiency
Pneumatic tools rely on an air compressor to operate, and the amount of force they exert is usually dictated by the flow rate supplied to them. The design of the flex-head angle impact wrench enables it to generate large quantities of torque with minimal air consumption. The average air consumption for our 3/8″ model is just 2.96 cubic feet per minute (CFM), while the 1/2″ variety only requires 4.0 CFM to run.

For added efficiency, the exhaust air flow is ejected through the bottom of the tool, avoiding unwanted air blasts into your project cavity.

Dual Intake Motor
One of the reasons the flex-head angle impact wrench is so efficient is that it employs a dual intake motor system to keep its hammer turning. Most impact wrenches use a five or six-valve rotor system, whereby the injected air enters a single chamber, forcing the rotor into the next position until the air is expelled through the exhaust. Our impact wrench is different.

Unlike the competition, we employ an eight-rotor system with two intake and exhaust valves each. This allows for more rapid air intake and exhaust, delivering higher rotational speed — and more working torque to go with it.

Twin Hammer Mechanism
The extra intake valves may cause the motor to spin faster, but the twin hammer design is what knocks those stuck nuts loose. While some designs only feature a single hammer that makes contact with a fastener every 360 degrees, our design features two hammers, allowing for contact twice per revolution. More impact, more torque, less time spent on freeing stubborn nuts. That’s what mechanics like you need, and it’s what the flex-head angle impact wrench is all about.

Other Specs
Noise level, vibration level, blows per minute (BPM) and free speed — these are just a few other parameters that go into each tool build, and they’re essential to an impact wrench’s operation. Here are some other specs that our engineers have considered for both the 3/8 and 1/2 inch models:

  • Blows per minute (BPM): 1,200 (3/8″); 1,200 (1/2″)
  • Free speed (RPM): 9,000 (3/8″); 8,000 (1/2″)
  • Noise level (dBA): 91.2 (3/8″); 91.2 (1/2″)
  • Vibration level (m/s^2): 8.56 (3/8″); 8.56 (1/2″)
  • Average air consumption (CFM): 2.96 (3/8″); 4.0 (1/2″) (at 90 psi)
  • Air inlet (NPT): 1/4″ (3/8″); 1/4″ (1/2″)
  • Total length (in.): 10.90 (3/8″); 10.90 (1/2″)
  • Height (in.): 3.25 (3/8″); 3.34 (1/2″)
  • Weight (lbs.): 2.51 (3/8″); 2.55 (1/2″)

It takes a lot to engineer a tool that will endure all that your project can throw at it. Even the slightest rise in vibration levels, and your hand is bound to wear out faster. Lower the blows per minute, and your impact wrench will make less contact with stuck nuts, lowering its net working torque.

That’s why we precision-engineer all of our products to the highest specifications. You take your project seriously, and you deserve a tool manufacturer that does the same. That’s Capri Tools.
